IN TOWN

Bryan Park
1100 S. Woodlawn
33 acres with 0.8 mile path. Restrooms. Popular jogging and dog-walking place. Watch picnics and tennis playing as you stroll.

Clear Creek Trail
Entrance on Country Club Road between Rogers and 37.
6 mile path reclaimed from abandoned railroad tracks. Very deserted.

Karst Farm Park
5200 W. Airport Rd.
Large park with well-paved 0.9 mile path. Restrooms. Next to the fairgrounds, and has a country atmosphere. Not many people there. Pick some apples or plums from the fruit trees. Disc golf is fun to watch.

Twin Lakes Sports Park
W.Second Street, east of 37.
40 acres with 0.7 mile path. Restrooms.

Winslow Sports Complex
Highland Ave. off Winslow
50 acres with smooth 0.9 mile path. Restrooms. Wildflowers and apple trees. Lots of baseball games going on. You can extend the length of the walk by going across the street to Winslow Woods Park and taking the trail that winds through the woods.

IU Campus
This is quite pleasant in the late afternoon or on the weekend. The entrance on Kirkwood is a great place to start.

 

WINTER WALKING

Don't give up on your daily walk just because it's freezing outside or pouring down rain. You can cover some distance inside Bloomington.

Bloomington Antique Mall
311 W. Seventh St.
Start at the top and keep turning right to cover every aisle and all three floors, and you'll get a long walk.

Indiana Memorial Union
900 East Seventh St.
Huge building with winding corriders. Interesting posters and artwork. Food shops, bookstore.

IU Art Museum
1133 E. Seventh St.
Relaxing and aesthetically stimulating.

College Mall
East Third Street
If you cover every corrider and alcove, this is some good distance. Better on the weekdays.
